LIVE from London Spring | with AAM & VOCES8
We’re delighted to be rejoining the Live from London series for Live from London Spring, a groundbreaking online festival of ten concerts, broadcast live in stunning HD from festival organiser VOCES8’s home in central London and additional venues around the world.
Blossoming from Valentine’s Day through Passiontide, International Women’s Day, Mother’s Day, and culminating in a flourish of creativity for Earth Day, the festival sows seeds for a summer of re-growth. Featuring a stunning line-up of ensembles and soloists opening vistas to fresh, new landscapes, Live from London Spring also presents much-loved works including Barber’s Dover Beach, Allegri’s Miserere, Faurés’s Requiem among others. The Academy of Ancient Music performs Bach’s magisterial Mass in B minor with guest leader Rachel Podger and a glittering lineup of soloists on Easter Sunday, as well as joining Stephen Fry to perform Paul Smith’s The Winter House.
Festival headliners include Stile Antico, Dame Emma Kirkby, the English Chamber Orchestra, Jason Max Ferdinand (The Aeolians), VOCES8, Rachel Podger, Apollo5, I Fagiolini, the Carducci Quartet, Jonathan Dove, pianist Joanna MacGregor and a host of superb soloists including Carolyn Sampson, Jeremy Budd, Matthew Brook and Frederick Long.
Live from London is designed to reunite the world’s many musicians and audiences with much needed concerts, and to raise money for artists, venues, choirs and festivals to cover C-19 losses. Purchasing your season tickets directly from the Academy of Ancient Music benefits the orchestra at no additional cost to you; on behalf of us all, thank you and enjoy the festival!
