AAM nominated for 2010 Gramophone Award for Baroque Instrumental Music

The AAM's recording of Handel's Trio Sonatas Opp.2 & 5  [link to CD] has been nominated for the 2010 Gramophone Award for Baroque Instrumental Music.

The recording, released in October 2009, completed the AAM's project to record Handel's instrumental music Opp.1-7 in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the composer's death.

The project has been a particularly successful one: the Organ Concertos Op.4 won the MIDEM and Edison Awards; and the Concerti Grossi Op.3 won the 2007 Gramophone Award for Baroque Instrumental Music. This nomination provides a fitting end to an acclaimed series.

Details of the other nominees and an in-depth review of the AAM recording can be found here.
