JS Bach wrote an astounding number of choral works in his lifetime, and it is these sacred cantatas for choir and orchestra that hold the key to his creative genius. Lively choruses intertwine with heart-rending solo arias to create dramatic narratives that would have inspired and surprised churchgoers in equal measure, paving the way for Bach's illustrious Passions and Oratorios.  The Academy of Ancient Music and Choir of the AAM mark the Easter season with three of Bach's finest cantatas, representing the very best of the composer's celebrated output.

"The Choir of the AAM sang with refined fervour throughout. Orchestrally, it was impeccable." THE GUARDIAN
