During the course of a whole weekend, players from the AAM present four concerts exploring the theme Gods and Mortals in the beautiful surroundings of Taunton Castle.
The programme features François Couperin’s little-performed two Apothéoses — of Lully and of Corelli —including the narration of the two pieces describing the ascent of Mount Parnassus as the two composers go up to meet the gods.
Alongside many more works from the French and Italian instrumental and cantata repertoire, the players will give performances of works by their personal musical ‘gods’, including works by Telemann and JS Bach.
It is possible to book both for individual concerts and for the weekend as a whole. For more details about the programme and for details of how to book, please click here.
