In January 2011, we launched a new series of workshops offering talented young period-instrument players the opportunity to play side-by-side with our musicians, in collaboration with the University of Cambridge and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
The first masterclass took place at Cambridge University's Faculty of Music. Cellist Steven Isserlis explored music by Schumann and Beethoven with a piano trio and string quartet before the AAM sat side-by-side with students to rehearse and perform JS Bach's Orchestral Suite No.1.
